You can put some in a grassy area to surprise those who walking through. Of course, mines are not invincible. It can be deactivated when you right click it with shears. Or if you want to arm it again, just right click it with flint and steel.

Probably the most important attribute of this mod is the laser. In order for it to work, you need to place 2 laser blocks within 4 blocks from each other. As soon as anything passes through the laser, it turns on a 2-second redstone signal.
